Day 3 - The back arch was shaped on the sides and the linings ( linings - to increase the gluing area on the edge of the sides) were glued on for the top and the back. Peter glued on the back braces that he shaped (and sanded) on Monday and has prepared all the sound board braces as well as the side struts for gluing - Pete is progressing well.
Day 4 - Even after some cycle injuries, Peter was in the workshop on time and worked like nothing had happened! Today the back braces got their final shape - the back side edges got shaped to receive the back - the front braces and the bridge plate were glued on - the back brace joints were cut in the sides - the vertical side struts were glued on - the end flash was cut and fitted - and the back was glued on - a fair amount of cleaning up glue and sanding - Pete squeezed a lot into day 4! https://www.facebook.com/guitarventures/posts/498585570253835
Day 5 - Today we started a little late after a hearty, delicious breakfast. Pete did the first cut on the neck - the finger board braces were scalloped and shaped and sanded and Peter did a first class job. We have great expectations when we strum those first chords at the end of the course - the side edges got shaped for the top to glued - and the joints were cut into the sides for the top braces - the top is ready for gluing tomorrow afternoon, as Peter is off to have a well earned game of golf tomorrow morning.
